A word from the president

Welcome to the Uganda Association of Translators and Interpreters (UATI). As President, I am honored to lead an organization dedicated to advancing the professional standards, visibility, and impact of translation and interpreting in Uganda.

Our association brings together a vibrant community of language professionals whose work bridges cultures, supports access to information, and fosters national development. Language is at the heart of effective communication and understanding, and our members play a critical role in connecting people across linguistic and cultural divides.

We are committed to promoting excellence, ethical practice, and capacity building in our field. UATI provides training, networking, and advocacy opportunities for translators and interpreters at all stages of their careers. We also work closely with partners in government, academia, and the private sector to raise awareness of the value of our profession and to support language access for all Ugandans.

Who We Are

ATIU was established to advance the translation and interpreting professions and foster the professional development of its members. Members include translators, interpreters, project managers, language company owners, businesses, and government agencies across Uganda.

How ATIU Works

ATIU is a not-for-profit membership association governed by its Memorandum and Articles of Association, which define the scope and nature of its activities, and a leadership responsible for conducting the business of the group. ATIU is registered as a company in Uganda.
