Accessibility Statement

The Association of Translators and Interpreters Uganda (ATIU) is committed to making this website usable by as many people as possible, including people with disabilities. We aim to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 as a general best-practice standard, and we continue to improve accessibility as the site develops.

What We've Done So Far

The site is structured using clear semantic sections (header, navigation, main content, footer) to help screen readers and assistive technology navigate the page
Form fields throughout the site (login, applications, registrations, and admin forms) have labels properly linked to their corresponding fields
Images include descriptive alternative text (alt text) where practical, so their content and purpose can be understood by visitors using screen readers
The site is designed to remain usable across different devices and screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors

Ongoing Work

Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time fix. We are continuing to review and improve the site, including adding features such as skip-navigation links and further alt text coverage, as the website evolves.
