Prof. Saudah Namyalo holds a PhD in Linguistics, a Master’s degree in Luganda, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Translation and Interpreting from Makerere University. She has 30 years of experience in translation, specializing in English–Luganda language pairs.
Fridah Katushemererwe holds a PhD in Language Technology from the University of Groningen, the Netherlands, a Master’s degree in Information Science, a Postgraduate Diploma in Computer Science and a Bachelor of Arts (Arts) from Makerere University. She has translated and transcribed English and Runyankore-Rukiga documents for 26 years.
Moureen Nanteza holds a PhD. in Linguistics, a Master's degree in African Languages, and a Bachelor of Arts with Education from Makerere University. She has 10 years of experience in translation, specializing in English-Luganda language pairs.
Mukama Chris holds a Master’s degree in Teaching Chinese from Beijing Language and Culture University, a Bachelor’s degree in Chinese Language and Asian Studies from Makerere University, a Diploma in Chinese Culture from Tianjin Military and Civil School, a Certificate in teaching Chinese, Hanban-certified HSK-5 and HSKK, and advanced Language Proficiency Certifications. He also holds a certificate in IT- Cisco-certified Network - Administration- Makerere University. He offers 10+ years of elite experience and previously demonstrated success delivering flawless simultaneous conference interpretation at high-level conferences.
Sarah Nakijoba holds a PhD in General Linguistics (Stellenbosch University - South Africa), an MPhil in Linguistics (Norwegian University of Science and Technology -Norway), a BA(A) Hons - Linguistics and Literature of Makerere University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education - English Language Studies and Literature - Makerere University. She has served as a translator at the Centre for Language and Communication Services since 2018 and taught courses on translation at undergraduate and graduate levels at Makerere University since 2011.
Musa Muganza Sowedi holds a Master’s Degree in Arabic as a Foreign Language [Islamic University in Uganda - Mbale], a Bachelor’s Degree in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language [Islamic Call University – Kampala], and a Diploma in Islamic Studies and Arabic Language [Al-Rasul Al-Akram Islamic College – Nairobi, Kenya]. He has 16 years of experience in translation and Interpretating, He has served as a translator at the Centre for Language and Communication Services since 2014 specializing in Arabic-English language pairs.
James Odongo is a doctoral candidate perusing PhD in African Languages at Makerere University. James holds a Master’s degree in African Languages and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts (Luo and Organizational Studies) from Makerere University. He has over 15 years of experience in translation, specializing in English-Leblango pairs. He is also an Assistant Lecturer of Luo Advanced in the Department of African Languages and teaches translation courses.
Bwambale Willington is an Assistant Lecturer at MMU. He is pursuing a Master of Arts in French language studies at Makerere University, has a Bachelor of Arts with Education (Hon) from Kabale University, an Advanced Certificate in French as a Foreign Language from the University of Ngozi-Burundi. In addition, certifications in leadership, public communication, community psychology, Sales and relational marketing (by different certifying bodies, local and international. He has 4 years in Translation & interprétation - French, English, and Lhukonzo.
Samuel Kamugisha is a translator and editor with more than a decade of professional experience providing high-quality language solutions to public institutions, private companies, non-governmental organizations, and individuals. Specializing in Runyankore-Rukiga to English and English to Runyankore-Rukiga translations, Kamugisha has offered translation services to clients in various fields, including education, law, health, finance and research. He is also engaged in private language instruction and materials development support for children’s literature and other creative works. A member of the Association of Translators and Interpreters of Uganda (ATIU), he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Communication from Makerere University.
Sarah Iriama, holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Kampala International University. She translates, interprets, and transcribes in English/Ngakarimojong and vice versa with an experience of 5 years.
Ms. Annet Nakayaga holds a Master's degree in African Languages and a Bachelor’s degree in Arts with Education, from Makerere University. She has ten (10) years of experience in translation, working with the Luganda and English pair. She observes accuracy, confidentiality and is committed to clear communication in her work.
Bai Jie (Abigail) is a qualified language translator with a Bachelor's Degree in Japanese Language. As a native speaker of Chinese, she has worked as a translator at CLCS, specializing in Chinese–English translation. Her translation experience covers a wide range of documents, and she is committed to delivering accurate, consistent, and high-quality translations that meet clients' needs.
Esther Nnakigudde is a professional Luganda–English translator with over six years of experience delivering accurate, culturally sensitive translations for legal, technical, academic, and audiovisual materials. She specializes in wills, agreements, marriage documents, research protocol tools, business profiles, and audio-visual transcription for legal, research, and media purposes. A native Luganda speaker with professional working proficiency in English, she holds a B.A. in Arts (Luganda & Linguistics) and a Master's in Human Resource Management from the Uganda Management Institute. She is skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and AI-assisted translation tools.
Tayebwa Daphine holds a Bachelor’s degree in Arts with a minor in Chinese language, and an HSK 2 Certificate, all from Makerere University. She has 3.5 years of experience in translation, specialising in Chinese-English language pairs.
